Provence is a place to savour. Vibrant markets, lingering dinners, local rosé, quiet villages, and some of the most rewarding cycling you'll find anywhere in France.
Our retreat is based in the medieval village of Villecroze, in the heart of the Var region. This is a quieter, less-travelled side of Provence, where winding roads weave through olive groves, vineyards, lavender fields and dramatic limestone landscapes, far from the crowds.
Each day brings a different ride. You'll tackle rewarding climbs, roll through postcard-worthy villages, and experience the unforgettable beauty of the Verdon Gorge, often called the Grand Canyon of Europe. It's challenging, inspiring, and one of the rides that guests remember long after they've returned home.
Back at our private boutique accommodation, the pace slows. Relax by the pool, enjoy exceptional local food, share stories from the day's ride, and settle into the rhythm that makes this week so special.
If you're looking for a cycling holiday that combines beautifully demanding riding with authentic French hospitality and the luxury of slowing down when the ride is over, I'd love to show you this part of Provence.

Your Home in Provence

Your Tucked away in the medieval village of Villecroze, our boutique home for the week is a beautifully restored 18th-century sheepfold, full of Provençal character and understated elegance.
Thoughtfully renovated, it blends rustic charm with contemporary comfort. Every room is individually styled, all feature private ensuites, and some open directly onto peaceful garden terraces scented with rosemary, thyme and lavender.
After each day's ride, there's nowhere better to unwind. Cool off in the pool, find a quiet corner in the gardens with a glass of local rosé, or simply soak up the slower pace of life that makes this part of Provence so special.
Just beyond the gates, Villecroze and the surrounding Var region offer everything you'd hope to discover in Provence, from local markets and artisan producers to hilltop villages, vineyards and quiet country roads waiting to be explored.

Is this cycling retreat for me?
Riding in Provence can be physically demanding, with sustained climbs and rolling terrain throughout the Var region. This retreat is best suited to level 2–3 riders. Most days include up to 80-100 km with elevation, and regular road cycling - including hill training - in the months leading up to the retreat is strongly recommended. This is not a training camp, but the riding is purposeful and rewarding. Routes are designed to showcase the best of the region, including quiet back roads, dramatic gorges, hilltop villages, and sections of the renowned Gorges du Verdon. On climbs, riders are encouraged to ride at their own pace and focus on the experience rather than chasing numbers.
Road e-bikes are available on request for those wanting a little extra assistance, allowing everyone to ride together and get the most out of the week.
Non-cycling friends/family
Non-cycling participants are always welcome and all activities are voluntary. Provence is the perfect destination for non-cycling partners to enjoy whilst you’re out on your ride. Quaint villages abound and are within easy reach to our accommodation, each village with a different market every day of the week. Of course you can't come to Provence without a visit to the lavender fields! There is also wonderful hiking in the area or for a more relaxed day, the estates beautiful pool for some well deserved down time. There is enough to do on our trips to keep riders happy, and we are only too happy help guests not participating in the organised activities with optional excursions at their own expense.
