Be a part of a relaxed tropical adventure in Bali.

Are you craving experience and adventure that is totally yours and an extended period of clarity and quiet, a nut of calm in the turbulent sea of your busy and all-consuming life? Do you need time to curl up, space to dream, a moment to be still?

In our world of busy, it's so important for our health – mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally – that we maintain balance and flow within our lives. Soulfit Adventures Bail experience offers just this—an escape for you to relax and unwind in idyllic surrounds.

Pondok Pisang, which translates to 'Banana House', is our exclusive venue for the 8 days, is located in the beautiful Mendira Village of Karangasem in East Bali, and stands between a banana plantation and the sea.

As you leave the heaving whirlpool of colour and noise of Denpasar behind in your private transfer and make your way to Pondok Pisang, the city melts away and rice fields start to make their serene appearance on the side of the road. In the distance jagged mountains stand guard. You follow the coastline, the sapphire sea winking intermittently around the road bends, the passing villages shrinking in size. Tiny wizened women squat on the side of the road, watching the world pass, large silver fish resting on their scalloped sides in baskets beside them. Children play bare chested and feet, scrawny chickens scratching the dust. This is just the beginning of your adventure...

Every morning we begin the day with a vinyasa flow style yoga class, enjoyed in the open aired yoga studio perched high amongst the tree tops, affording sumptuous panoramic views of the ocean below.  Every second day activities are offered – a hike through local rice terraces where the humidity shimmers on the horizon, sweat sliding down every inch of your skin, passing small brown skinned boys washing exotic, doe eyed cows in streams, mothers peddling wares holding babies to their breasts. Trips to the frenetic bohemia of Ubud, boating around the coast, snorkelling in deep, cold waters.

Alternate days are spent nestled in resort, soaking up the sun and punctuated by massages and reflexology treatments, that afford ultimate relaxation and the chance to truly unwind. Swimming in the mornings straight off the rocks at high tide, the water still and clear like glass, the perfect water like a warm caress, all thoughts slip from your ears and into the current below.

The evenings blink shut the same way the day opens – with yoga, this time yin yoga. Deeply quiet, the sky blushing from blue to rose gold and finally a midnight blue, the palm trees offer a faint silhouette as you breathe and deeply stretch your way through 75 minutes. Something unfurls in you during these hours. Emotions hidden and lying low are allowed to flow free, languidly lapping in your veins. More than anything, it is the quiet, the deep satisfying quiet, appeasing every fizzed nerve and smoothing tense apprehensions and everyday worries, that wrap you in it's embrace. It's a place that affords an old rosy contentment to come back to sit with you. How glorious.

Reluctantly at the end of the week we will bid you adieu. Our main intention is to physically stretch you, mentally inspire you, and emotionally refresh you, carrying a kernel of peace in your chest cavity and a realisation the magic of serenity and self-discovery is closer than you think.

Don't miss out on this soul soothing adventure!

Pondok Pisang and it’s open aired; bamboo walls meet cool tiled floors and high wooden beamed ceilings. The sound of waves breaking fills every corner, salt heavy on the air. Mismatched furniture, heavy set antique wooden couches and carved four poster sofas are covered with bright throws and faded cushions, patterned blankets and beautiful, handmade wall hangings of all colours. Enormous dream catchers, intricately woven and adorned with trinkets, handmade on site. Heavy with bohemia, the small resort is an oasis of calm, cooled by a gentle sea breeze and like a tonic after the bustle of the city and busier areas of Bali.

The grounds are thick with tropical greenery, garden lamps lighting up corners at night, throwing long leering frond shadows.  Pebbled paths lead to a series of bungalows, open aired and filled with the sounds of the day and night.  Rooms with beds swathed in mosquito netting, large wooden furniture from another time. Each room and their bathrooms styled differently, eccentrically complete with coral mosaicked bathtubs and dream catchers, faded linens reminiscent of eras gone.

The bungalows are not air conditioned, but have ceiling fans and there is always an ocean breeze blowing through to cool the rooms. Each bungalow has their own privacy. There are no televisions or sound systems in the rooms. There is the nature's symphony though and there are lots of stars and places to chill out. WiFi is available.

Pondok Pisang has its own restaurant that serves us delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners. The food is predominantly vegetarian is so fresh and all prepared by the effervescent staff, red saronged and perpetually smiling. The ingredient’s come directly from the surrounding area, including fresh fruit, vegetables and fish. One of the house specialties is the "Ikan Pepes," fish that is spiced then wrapped in banana leaves and grilled.

The retreat is an alcohol free week.  Having said that you might enjoy a drink at the end of the day and your are more than welcome too.
