Last week, I wrapped up the Soulfit Adventures 2025 season in Girona, and what a finale it was. After 4.5 months in Europe, I’m now back in Australia with a flat white in hand, still buzzing from the week we spent exploring one of the world’s best cycling destinations.
Why Girona?
I hadn’t hosted a group here since 2019, and returning felt like reconnecting with an old friend, familiar yet full of new surprises. Girona has long been known as a cycling mecca, but experiencing it again with an incredible group reminded me exactly why it holds such a special place in Soulfit Adventures calendar.
The Retreat Experience

The people: An amazing group who brought energy, big laughter, and connection every day.
The rides: Rolling roads, challenging climbs, sunflower-lined roads, and golden Costa Brava light that made every kilometer unforgettable.
The guide: Knut, our local cycling guide, was absolutely brilliant. Calm, knowledgeable, always ready with a smile, the perfect route, and a cheeky quip.
The base: A stunning eco-sustainable villa designed with cyclists in mind, complete with yoga sessions to balance the miles and zero-waste meals prepared by our talented local chef.
The vibe: Effort and indulgence in perfect balance - challenging rides, long shared dinners, and plenty of laughter in between.
Exceeding Expectations

Even though I’d been to Girona with groups before, after a few years away I wasn’t sure what to expect, and it surprised me all over again. We tackled challenging climbs and rode routes that felt untouched, winding through quiet country lanes and golden light, and capped it off together by leaping into the pool in our kit after conquering the Queen’s stage - laughter echoing as much as the splash. It wasn’t just the place, but the people, that made it unforgettable. At every turn, Girona and the Costa Brava delivered. It truly was the perfect finale to a very special season.
Looking Ahead
Girona is officially back in the Soulfit Adventures rotation, and I couldn’t be happier. In 2026 I’ll be running two retreats: 28 August to 4 September and 5 to 12 September. One of these weeks may be dedicated to gravel riding, depending on interest, just like in the Loire Valley.
For now, I’m back in Australia, swapping European climbs for ocean swims. But the spirit of Girona with its beauty, energy, and community, will stay with me for a long time, and I can't wait to share more adventures with you.🚴♀️✨
